Phil Gattone has dedicated his professional life helping nonprofit organizations and healthcare companies elevate their impact through his special brand of leadership and strategic vision.

Under Phil’s leadership as President & CEO, the Epilepsy Foundation experienced unprecedented expansion. Phil’s vision to build greater impact in more communities resulted in multiple new strategic partnerships and streamlined fundraising, marketing and program operations. As a result, the Epilepsy Foundation produced record growth in community engagement and financial growth. During Phil’s tenure, Epilepsy Foundation annual revenues expanded from $10 Million in 2012 to more than $25 Million in 2020. Phil also successfully built alliances with multiple community partners, elevating the Foundation’s position within the national and global epilepsy community. Phil also introduced new cost-effective solutions that elevated mission impact and united the Epilepsy Foundation. The Epilepsy Foundation established the Phil Gattone Award for Exemplary Service to recognize Phil’s lifetime of significant achievements.

Long before serving at the Epilepsy Foundation, Phil was elevating community impact, serving as senior executive in local, regional, national and global nonprofit organizations and healthcare companies. Phil’s experiences provide a rare perspective and deep understanding of the unique needs facing nonprofit and healthcare company leaders each and every day.

Phil’s personal experience with a family member’s serious health condition adds a special dimension to his ability to understand the passionate desire for nonprofit and healthcare leaders to make an impact. Through his son’s experience with uncontrolled epilepsy, Phil developed a strong sense of urgency to help others who share a desire for elevating impact.

Phil is the recipient of multiple awards, and he currently serves as a strategic advisor to multiple healthcare companies and nonprofit organizations.

Phil received his Bachelor's Degree in Business and Marketing in 1981 from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, and his Master's Degree in Education in 2000 from National College of Education/National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois. Phil lives with his wife, Jill, in Holly Springs, North Carolina.
